Caring for Odie's Oil Finished Furniture
Odie's Oil is a natural, food-safe finish that enhances the wood's beauty and provides a durable, protective layer. Over time, the wood will develop a rich patina, adding character to your piece.
Regular Maintenance:
Dust regularly with a soft cloth to prevent buildup.
Clean with a damp cloth and mild soap when needed.
Avoid prolonged exposure to standing liquids to prevent watermarks.
Do not use silicone-based furniture polishes, as they can create a buildup that interferes with future maintenance and refinishing.
Reapplying Odie's Oil:
Reapply a thin coat of Odie's Oil every 6-12 months to maintain its depth and protection.
Apply with a lint-free cloth, let it sit briefly, and then buff it off thoroughly with a soft cotton towel until dry to the touch.
Allow the surface to cure for 3-5 days before exposing it to standing liquids.
Using Odie's Wood Butter:
Odie's Wood Butter can be used as a top-up to enhance sheen and protection.
Apply sparingly with a soft cloth, allow it to sit briefly, and then buff to a smooth finish.
Natural Wood Movement: Wood is a living material that responds to changes in temperature and humidity. Some movements, such as slight expansion or contraction, are completely natural and do not affect the integrity of the piece. To minimize excessive movement:
Keep your furniture in a stable environment, away from direct heat sources such as radiators, and maintain consistent humidity levels.
Use a humidifier during dry seasons to prevent wood from shrinking and cracking.

Care Instructions for Resin River Tables & Furniture
Resin elements in your furniture require special attention to maintain their clarity and prevent scratches. Additionally, to avoid cracks or damage in resin, proper care and environmental conditions are essential.
Regular Maintenance:
Dust regularly with a microfiber cloth.
Clean with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution.
Avoid ammonia-based cleaners, as they can dull the resin’s surface.
For a polished look, use a plastic or resin-specific polish occasionally.
Spill & Stain Management:
Wipe spills immediately to prevent staining.
Use a soft cloth to remove dried spills; avoid scrubbing.
If scratches appear, buff gently with a non-abrasive polishing compound.
Avoiding Cracks in Resin: Resin is highly sensitive to environmental changes, especially temperature fluctuations. To prevent cracks:
Avoid placing resin furniture near heat sources (like direct sunlight, radiators, or heaters) as extreme temperature changes can cause the resin to expand and contract.
Keep the resin surface away from sharp impacts or heavy objects that could cause pressure points.
If the resin surface is exposed to excessive moisture or humidity over time, it could weaken, so it’s essential to maintain a consistent environment.
Effects of UV Exposure
Both wood and resin are affected by prolonged UV exposure:
Wood: Natural wood tones may darken or fade over time when exposed to direct sunlight.
Resin: UV rays can cause resin to yellow or develop a cloudy appearance.
Prevention:
Use UV-protective finishes where possible and keep furniture out of direct sunlight. Alternatively, use UV-filtering window treatments or place your furniture in shaded areas to minimize sun exposure.
